Soft Conversations
Production Role: Director/Writer/Music
The 1960s, red lipstick, silk gown, lights low, smooth jazz on stage, soft conversations from strangers. William, a young man, suddenly sees the girl of his dreams walking past him.
The film spent 16 months in pre production and went through 14 different drafts before reaching a final one. After many months of casting and location scouting, principal photography began in September 2019 lasting almost 30 consecutive hours. After a super tough but super successful weekend, post production has been in full force.
Trickster
Production Role: Sound and Music
This film pays a homage to Georges Méliès and other early 1800s silent black and white films where they showcased the abilities of the camera through illusions. In this film's case, the use of card tricks and magic does just that. Due to there being no dialogue in the film, the music reflects the emotions and to create and resolve tensions.
Tanzania Service Project Promotional Video
Production Role: Cinematographer/Editor
In 2017, I participated in a 3-week service project in Tanzania. After seeing how our efforts positively impacted the local community, I felt like this project had to be shared. I returned to participate in the same project 2 years later and documented the experience with hopes of inspiring my fellow students to participate and perhaps educate the greater school community.
It can often be difficult for donors, sponsors, and supporters to see where and how their money is being used. That is why it is important to be able to share the experience with them. Sharing experiences such as this one allows for other societies to understand what goes on in the developing countries of the world. Raising awareness is the first step to making the world a better place for all.
